Recommended Grades & Grain Sizes

Grain Sizes
Typical Specifications Required
| Parameter | Typical Requirement | Note |
|---|---|---|
| NaCl Purity | β₯ 97.0% | Industrial grade; consistency more critical than maximum purity |
| Grain Size | 0.3 β 3 mm (fine/medium) | Fine for dyebath exhaustion; medium for tanning drums |
| Sulfate (SOβΒ²β») | < 1,500 mg/kg | High sulfate can compete with reactive dye fixation on cotton |
| Calcium (CaΒ²βΊ) | < 200 mg/kg | Hard water minerals cause dye precipitation in alkaline dyebath |
| Iron (Fe) | < 5 mg/kg | Iron causes fabric discoloration (bronzing) on light shades |
| Manganese (Mn) | < 1 mg/kg | Manganese causes yellowing in white and pale textiles |
| Moisture | < 0.5% | Controlled moisture for consistent weight and dosing accuracy |
| Insolubles | < 0.3% | Prevents filter blockages in dye machine liquor circuits |
Reactive Dye Exhaustion
Salt is the primary auxiliary in reactive dyeing of cotton, viscose, and cellulosic fibres. It drives dye migration from bath onto fibre β typically 40β100 g/L salt concentration.
Leather Tanning & Curing
Coarse salt for hide curing (preservation before tanning) and pickling (pH adjustment before chrome or vegetable tanning). High volume, consistent quality.
Fibre Bleaching Support
Salt as electrolyte in electrochemical bleaching systems. Controls ionic strength for uniform bleaching of wool, cotton, and synthetic blends.
High-Volume Industrial Supply
Textile dyehouses and tanneries are high-consumption facilities. Bulk container (2ΓFCL) and vessel supply (3,000+ MT) for uninterrupted production.
Low Iron & Manganese
Our Mediterranean sea salt is naturally low in iron and manganese β avoiding the discoloration problems that plague inferior salts in light-shade dyeing programs.
Automated Feeding Compatible
25 kg bags and FIBC big bags for pneumatic salt feeding systems and automated dissolution tanks in continuous dyeing ranges.
